Membrane Filter Press
- Microfiltration is a filtration process which removes contaminants from a fluid (liquid & gas) by passage through a microporous membrane. A typical microfiltration membrane pore size range is 0.1 to 10 micrometres (µm).
- a thin microporous material of specific pore size used to filter bacteria, algae, and other very small particles from water
- a solid continuous film of material that has microscopic pores of controlled size.
- Move or cause to move into a position of contact with something by exerting continuous physical force
- the print media responsible for gathering and publishing news in the form of newspapers or magazines
- imperativeness: the state of demanding notice or attention; "the insistence of their hunger"; "the press of business matters"
- Squeeze (someone's arm or hand) as a sign of affection
- Exert continuous physical force on (something), typically in order to operate a device or machine
- exert pressure or force to or upon; "He pressed down on the boards"; "press your thumb on this spot"
Ultrafiltration and Microfiltration Handbook
Soon after its publication in 1987, the first edition of Ultrafiltration Handbook became recognized as the leading handbook on ultrafiltration technology. Reviews in professional journals praised it as an authoritative and substantive information resource on this technology. Now a completely, updated and expanded edition is available under the title, Ultrafiltration and Microfiltration Handbook.
This practical handbook systematically covers the basics of this technology from its scientific fundamentals to a wide range of industrial applications. The presentation is clear and concise with the emphasis on practical use. Many schematics and micrographs illustrate membranes, equipment and processes. Numerous tables and graphs provide useful data on specifications and performance.
The updated information is useful to all those involved in the use of separation and filtration in industrial processes.
Commercial Press Building, High Street, Kuala Lumpur
Construction date: 1914.
Commercial press is Kuala Lumpur's oldest printing company and it was to have closed by the end of 1988. According to the New Straits Times - 2 December,1988:
The company has decided to forge on - but will never be the same again. This is because the company is only retaining the name but will shift from its present premises, an antiquated three-story building that has lent the company and old world charm in Jalan Tun H.S Lee (formerly Jalan Bandar). It has also divested itself of most of its printing equipment and machinery carrying brand names as solid as the metal they are etched on.
Despite earlier intentions to cease operations, the 74 year old Commercial Press Sdn Bhd has decided to carry on on a larger scale in a new building on the outskirts of town. Its manager Harry Yuen Sze Kin, who is as old as the company, said the family-run business will now be under the management of his nephews who are third generation Yuens.
Location: Jalan Tun H S Lee
Former names: Jalan Bandar, High Street
Wrap me in silk brocade
the color of forest mosses...
it's patterns pressed deep
with wild flowers
gathered at the hips
and falling in folds like theater curtains.
In dark and moist old movie theaters
I can feel the costumes
of a thousand actors
brush against my neck
and hit against my ankles.

membrane filter press
The key component for any reverse osmosis unit is its membrane. The membrane will determine the type of contaminants removed and how much water the unit will produce. Our Captive Purity Hi-S (High Silicate) membranes are the gold standard and will remove 96% of nitrates and up to up to 99.5% of silicate. Chlorine will ruin TFC, Hi-F, and Hi-S membranes so prior carbon filtration is required. All Captive Purity Membranes and RO and RO/DI units are designed and manufactured in the USA.Please note that these Hi-S replacement membranes are interchangeable with Kent Marine, and SpectraPure RO or RO/DI units. For proper and efficient operation please check that your RO or RO/DI unit has the proper Flow Restrictor installed. All sizes of Flow Restrictors are available separately. We have researched and tested the best replacement membranes among all manufacturers, and offer only the best available.
